Bugatti Delivers Final 1578 bhp Chiron Super Sport 300+

Bugatti has delivered the final unit of the 1578 bhp Chiron Super Sport 300+ ending the production run of the special edition variant. Limited to just 30 units, Bugatti revealed the production Super Sport 300+ back in 2019 as the road going customer version of the Chiron prototype that breached the 300 mph (482.8 kmph) mark at the VW Group’s Ehra-Lessien test track in Germany. Bugatti revealed the first batch of eight customers cars just last year
Compared to the standard Chiron, the Super Sport 300+ featured revisions to the bodystyle along with a notable bump up in power from the quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W16 engine. The Super Sport 300+ featured a more longtail-esque design for improved aero with the car 250mm longer than the standard Chiron. Other upgrades included a new engine thermal management system, upgraded engine management software and a revised gearbox with longer rations. The engine itself was fettled to deliver an additional 100 bhp over the standard Chiron with the longer gears helping the car reach a top speed in excess of 300 mph (482.8 kmph).

The Super Sport 300+ featured a longtail design for improved aerodynamics and was about 250mm longer than the regular Chiron
Other unique touches over the standard Chiron included the exposed carbonfibre bodywork and orange stripes running the length of the car.
Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, said: “In the long history of Bugatti, there are vehicles that come to define their era. The Type 35 transformed motor racing, the Type 41 Royale redefined opulence, the Type 57 SC set new standards for design, and now there is the Chiron Super Sport 300+, hitting speeds that were long thought to be impossible in a production car. Its achievements have secured it legendary status in the Bugatti history books, and we’re delighted to have seen all 30 examples of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ delivered to some of our most passionate customers.”
The Chiron itself is at the end of its lifecycle with all 500 units slated to be produced already finding buyers as of January 2022. The company is currently in the process of manufacturing and delivering the pending orders
