Bugatti-Powered Off-Road Hypercar Proposed by Italian Design House

Turin-based CAMAL design centre have revealed digital renders of the Ramusa all-wheel drive (AWD) hybrid hypercar and it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. Right at the outset, it must be said that the Bugatti-powered car is an amazing concept but it's unlikely to ever go into production.
The Ramusa (which means 'lizard' in Piedmontese - a Romance language spoken in north-west Italy where the design centre is based) has been conceptualised as a performance vehicle with off-road capabilities thanks to AWD and an increased ground clearance. The hypercar is based on the Bugatti EB110, and borrows its 3.5-litre quad-turbo V12 engine, chassis, and a few other components. Interestingly, the EB110 went out of production more than 20 years ago.

The massive engine sends power to the car's rear wheels through a 6-speed gearbox, while a central electric motor is mated to the front axle to enable an AWD layout. The combined output is more than 800hp on paper but performance details of the car are not available since a working unit of the off-roader has not been built yet.

The Ramusa has an overall length of 4320mm and is 2020mm wide. Despite the 250mm ground clearance, it remains relatively low at 1300 mm. The 2-seater comes with plastic body cladding and many exposed carbon fibre body parts, including the wheel arches.

CAMAL has expressed its intention to put the concept hypercar into a limited production series, although the company might have to rework the engine and chassis since the out-of-production Bugatti EB110's components will obviously not be easily available.
