Buying A Used Royal Enfield Continental GT 650? We List Out The Pros And Cons

- It uses the same engine and the chassis as the RE Interceptor 650
- The Continental GT 650 is about 6 kg lighter than Interceptor 650
- It has a beautiful cafe racer design
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is the cafe racer-styled model of the Royal Enfield 650 Twins, which also includes the retro roadster, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Powered by a modern, 648 cc, parallel-twin engine which puts out 47 bhp at 7,150 rpm, and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. The six-speed gearbox is a slick-shifting unit, and the parallel-twin engine has smooth performance, with a nice burbling exhaust note from the twin pipes. Unlike the Interceptor 650, the Continental GT 650 has a more hunkered down cafe racer-style riding position.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is a fun-to-ride motorcycle. Smooth engine, decent build quality and great road manners.
The slightly sporty seating position isn't too committed either. You simply crouch forward enough so that the motorcycle makes you look cool. And if it weren't for the exhausts that jut out, the Continental GT 650 does not shy away from corners either, and offers a superb handling machine. Overall, it's a nice, practical, and reasonably affordable modern classic cafe racer which is quite likeable, and offers a perfect bike as a daily commuter, and short highway stints. Here's a look at its pros and cons.
