Elon Musk Reveals FSD Beta 10.2 To Release Tonight To 1000 Users

- The new FSD beta is now at V10.2 and will release later tonight
- Elon Musk has said it will be used by around 1000 drivers
- Musk wants to to offer it to folks with best safety scores
Elon Musk has revealed that Tesla's FSD Beta 10.2 version will be released later tonight to around 1000 users. This is part of a wider release plan which was originally slated for 6 months ago. Tesla earlier said that it would be as simple as pushing the download button then changed terms and said drivers with the best safety rating will be added to the beta ring.
"FSD Beta 10.2 rolls out Friday midnight to 1000 owners with perfect 100/100 safety scores. Rollouts will hold for several days after that to see how it goes. If that looks good, beta will gradually begin rolling out to 99 scores and below," said Musk.

The Dojo Supercomputer has been designed to train Tesla's self-driving neural network
Tesla has been refining the software and doesn't suddenly want too many users using the level 2 self-driving system as it could turn into a safety fiasco.
"Definitely, further refinements coming to an (early beta) safety test score. It will be refined continuously until it is an extremely good predictor of crash probability. Exciting actuarial problem!," Musk added.
Tesla has developed its own DOJO supercomputer which is slated to be the fastest computer of its kind in the world to train self-driving neural networks. It also has its own D1 chip for the same. It also has an FSD chip on the car which processes the algorithms in real-time leveraging real-time camera data from the cars to enable the autonomous capability. Tesla, however, has a sketchy record.
