  • First Electric Ferrari to arrive in late-2025
  • The second electric model likely delayed from 2026 to 2028
  • Low market demand for the electric Ferrari

Ferrari is reportedly delaying their second all-electric model for a couple of years owing to the low demand they received for their first-ever limited-run EV scheduled to arrive later this year. The first electric Ferrari set to debut in October this year hasn’t received the demand the Italian marque was expecting. And the second EV which was supposed to debut in late-2026 as a high-volume offering is now reportedly delayed until 2028.

Coming later this year, the first zero-emission Prancing Horse will be a larger, limited-run model which won’t be an SUV. It will be one of the six models Ferrari is planning to unveil this calendar year and is likely to be the size of the Maserati Levante as early test mules suggested. It will continue to be built at the Maranello factory as Ferrari added a new building within the premises for electric vehicles. While this new production line will also be able to produce hybrids like the Purosangue. Going forth, the facility will also produce high-voltage batteries and electric motors.

As for the second EV, we could see some kind of prototype for it at the unveil and the arrival of the first EV either later this year or sometime in 2026. A delay will allow Ferrari more time to develop as well as gauge the market while they continue to sell the ICE and Hybrid versions – the latter of which comprised almost half their sales last year. As for the competition, both Lamborghini and Porsche have revised their EV strategies.
