Formula E: Tata Consultancy Services Joins Jaguar Racing As Title Partner

- Jaguar Racing and TCS have signed a multi-year partnership
- The team will now be called Jaguar TCS Racing
- Mitch Evans and Sam Bird will continue to race in Season 8
Tata Consultancy Services has joined the Jaguar Racing Team as title partner for the 2021/22 Formula E World Championship. The team will now be called as Jaguar TCS Racing as part of a multi-year partnership starting from the upcoming Season 8, the organisation confirmed in a statement. Jaguar Land Rover and TCS will build on its existing business relationship with the new Jaguar TCS Racing partnership, and help the automaker showcase its electrification plans to the world.
As part of the rebranding exercise, the team will use a revised livery of the Jaguar I-Type 5 race car in the upcoming season. Moreover, Jaguar TCS Racing has been elevated within JLR's recently launched motorsport division as part of the automaker's re-imagine strategy. The team says it will use this activity to test, learn, develop and collaborate over electric vehicle technologies across the JLR group, which will benefit future cars from the manufacturer. The move will help JLR to make its transition to an all-electric brand by 2025, as well as coincide with the company's commitment to the Gen3 era of Formula E.

It's an announcement we've been looking forward to revealing and is an exciting time to see a global leader like Tata Consultancy Services joining other blue-chip brands in FIA Formula E. After our most successful season to date we have been working hard to improve further on our performance with the aim to race for more points, wins and ultimately the world championship.
Rajesh Gopinathan, MD & CEO, Tata Consultancy Services, said, "We are delighted to expand our partnership with Jaguar Land Rover and join forces as Jaguar TCS Racing in a bid to harness collective knowledge and to innovate for a sustainable future for all. As the world races towards electrification, this collaboration will pave the way for the adoption of advanced technologies, utilisation of cleaner energy, and the evolution of novel business models. Our efforts will go beyond business as usual to make a lasting impact on people, communities, and the planet."
As part of the restructuring, James Barclay will take the role of managing director, Jaguar Land Rover Motorsport Limited in addition to his role as team principal of Jaguar TCS Racing. Thierry Bollore, CEO - Jaguar Land Rover, becomes the chairman of the new organisation. All future opportunities and benefits for both Jaguar and Land Rover brands will be explored through this newly formed division.
With respect to plans for the upcoming Formula E season, Jaguar will build on a successful end to this year's championship that saw the team finish as a runner-up. Drivers Sam Bird and Mitch Evans will continue to pilot the I-Type 5 race car. The team says it's working to improve energy management, while also investing time in understanding and simulating the new qualifying system.
The team is also practicing in-garage pitstops, which will become a significant feature of the first 10 minutes of the new format.
The Fornula E Season 8 will kick start on January 28, 2022 with the Diriyah e-Prix in Saudi Arabia. The season will comprise 16 races in 12 cities across the world.
