- The Hummer EV pickup deliveries have started in the US
- It is part if a series of cars that will leverage GMs Ultium technology
- Soon there will be Chevrolet and Cadillac models based on the same
General Motors (GM) has announced that it has started deliveries of its GMC Hummer EV pickup truck. This makes it the second electric pickup truck to hit the market after the Rivian R1T. Ford is also preparing to launch the F-150 Lightning and while Tesla expects to start deliveries of the Cybertruck in the latter half of 2022. GM had promised a super truck that could do 563 km on a single charge, was luxurious, and had some incredible off-roading chops and that's what it seems it has delivered. All of this has been enabled by its Ultium brand of batteries and motors.
"The first 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickups have been produced at Factory ZERO, and customer deliveries will now begin. The revolutionary GMC super-truck represents the first of many Ultium-based consumer vehicles to be produced as part of General Motors' vision for an all-electric future," said the US-based automotive manufacturer.

The Hummer EV is the most advanced electric pick up to hit the market so far
"We brought this truck to market with speed and agility and brought GM another step closer to an all-electric future. With our Ultium Platform as the foundation for a broad range of applications, the GMC Hummer EV offers our customers the ultimate in capability and performance," GM President Mark Reuss added.
GM had sold the first Hummer EV at an auction for $2.5 million, though the base model starts at $80,000. The first edition of the Hummer EV starts at $110,295 which also deploys 1,000 bhp and also comes with a unique crab mode that now Tesla is also copying for the Cybertruck.
