Honda City e:HEV Hybrid Prices Slashed; Now Costs Rs 19.89 Lakh

Honda Cars India has reduced the price of the Honda City e:HEV hybrid by almost Rs 1 lakh. The strong hybrid derivative of the compact sedan is now priced at Rs 19.89 lakh (ex-showroom) - down from Rs 20.85 lakh. As before, the City hybrid is offered solely in fully loaded ZX spec.

The City Hybrid marked the return of a hybrid powertrain option to Honda's line-up, with the brand having previously offered the Civic and Accord with hybrid powertrains in the country. The City Hybrid was launched in India in 2022 before being facelifted alongside the standard petrol City in 2023. Currently, the City Hybrid is the sole mass-market strong hybrid sedan on sale in the country, with the next closest sedan option being the much more expensive Camry.

The City hybrid is powered by the familiar 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a battery under the boot floor. The total system output stands at 125 bhp, which is sent to the front wheels via a CVT as standard. On the feature front, the City hybrid gets all the bells and whistles including ADAS tech, six airbags, LED headlights, a Lane Watch Camera, part-digital instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and more.

The Honda City Hybrid goes up against the top variants of the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia though its rivals lack a strong hybrid powertrain.
