The City Hybrid marked the return of a hybrid powertrain option to Honda's line-up, with the brand having previously offered the Civic and Accord with hybrid powertrains in the country. The City Hybrid was launched in India in 2022 before being facelifted alongside the standard petrol City in 2023. Currently, the City Hybrid is the sole mass-market strong hybrid sedan on sale in the country, with the next closest sedan option being the much more expensive Camry.
