Honda to Launch Sporty Mobilio RS Kit in India

A few days back we told you that Honda Indonesia had introduced the sporty RS kit-powered Mobilio and now it looks like it is India's turn. Rumour has it that Honda Cars India has already brought in the RS-kit powered model, and intends to offer it for sale soon.
Considering that the Mobilio's regular model is expected to arrive in India by the end of July, the RS trim is expected to come out by September - October. If true, it would be quite a smart move since that is when festivities begin in India and launching the new kit around that time could prove beneficial for Honda.

The models with the RS kit on sale in Indonesia offer a lot more than the standard model, in terms of style and equipment, to be specific. It includes redesigned head-lamps with bi-focal projectors and LED daytime running lights. However, the most important variation between the Indonesian regular Mobilio and the one with the RS kit is a broad two slat chrome grille, quite different from the standard single slat chrome grille.

The Mobilio RS kit also includes larger rear and front bumpers with chrome garnishing and comparatively bigger fog-lamp enclosures. The RS kit version also features side skirts, new alloy wheels and ORVMs with turn blinkers. As far as the cabin is concerned, it gets faux wood garnish, leather upholstery, illuminated door sills and an infotainment system with a 6.2-inch touchscreen.
Considering the addition of all these features, it is a given that the RS version of the MPV will cost a tad bit more as compared to its regular model. In Indonesia, the Mobilio RS with manual transmission is available for sale at 203.5 Rupiah (INR 10.19 lakh), while the automatic variant costs 214 million Rupiah (INR 10.72 lakh).
