How to Get Your Car Ready for Spring

- Clean your car regularly for safety and optimum performance
- Regularly replace all your car's fluids
- Check tyre pressure and never drive at low pressure
Let's see some tips which you can follow. It is essential to prepare for the spring season as well. Let's dive in!
Tyre Swap
You have many tyres available in the market. You get all-season, winter, and summer tyres, to name a few. It would be best to use tyres apt for the spring season. It may sound very simple, but it is one of the most overlooked things a car owner does.
Cleaning your Vehicle
Your backyard isn't the only place where you should do spring cleaning. Keeping a car clean with all the salt-covered roads and winter slush is difficult even if you are vigilant. You can get your car polished and apply wax's fresh coat to undo months of winter damage. Clean your windows and wash your floor mats while you're at it. You should keep your engine clean remove all the debris, such as leaves, from under the hood of your car. Clean your battery for its optimum performance.

Check Your Headlights
Inspect your headlights as gravel and salts can cause cracks in headlight cases and corrosion in wires. Ensure that both the headlights are working as it helps you see in the dark. Better safe than sorry!

Inspect Your Brakes
It would be best always to get your brakes checked every 20,000 km or six months. All the salt and gravel on the roads can cause damage to your brakes, and needless to say, brakes are one of the most important parts of your car. It is for your safety and that of others to keep your brakes up to the mark.
Tire Pressure
Check your tyre pressure and ensure it is up to the recommended mark. Driving with low tyre pressure can be dangerous and should always be avoided. Your tyre can even burst if you drive with below-normal tyre pressure and cause all types of accidents.
The winter causes your tyre pressure to drop while the summer can over-inflate your tyres. Keep your tyre pressure on the optimum level for best performance and safety.
The Fluids
The winter causes many fluids to deplete, and the one which depletes almost every time is the wiper fluid. Refill all the fluids that your car requires for optimum performance. You can do this yourself or go to your nearest mechanic and let the professionals do it. You should ensure that you replace your brake fluid, transmission fluid, and oil every 5,000 km.

The Underbody
Winter causes your underbody to get covered in salt, grime, and sand which can cause corrosion. The corrosion can cause rust issues and make it dangerous to drive. The rust will also reduce your car's resale value.
Wash and clean your car's underbody yourself or go to the nearest mechanic and get it done. We suggest using a jack to raise the car and to do a thorough cleaning.
