55% bookings were made for the Alcazar with the diesel powertrain
The Alcazar is a premium offering from Hyundai and hence the 4000 bookings are quite an eye opener. It's the 6-seater though that has received a lot of attention and that shows in the bookings as well as 60 per cent of the share has gone to the 6-seater version. The company received 40 per cent bookings for the 7 seater version. The company is also offering manual and automatic transmissions on both the petrol and manual transmission version of the car. For now, though Hyundai has received equal number of bookings for manual and automatic transmission.
The petrol and diesel split though is quite interesting to note as 45 per cent of the bookings have been made for the petrol variant while 55 per cent bookings were received for the diesel. The company has said that deliveries of the car will begin from today and it is expecting the waiting period for the car to be around 4 to 8 weeks.
