The Hyundai Alcazar is the latest entrant in the seven-seater mid-size SUV segment and will be going up against the Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar, which are fairly new as well. That said, the Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus is available with both petrol and diesel powertrain options while the Tata Safari comes only with a diesel engine. The Hyundai Alcazar will be offered in both six and seven seater variants and in three trim levels- Prestige, Platinum and Signature. While both six and seven seater option are available in all petrol variants, the range-topping diesel gets only six-seater configuration and the bottom two diesel trims get both six and seven seater variants. Petrol

The MG Hector Plus petrol is more affordable than the Hyundai Alcazar.

The MG Hector Plus is the more affordable seven-seater petrol SUV in its segment. The base trim of the MG Hector Plus undercuts the Hyundai Alcazar by Rs. 2.68 lakh while the price difference between the range-topping trims stands at Rs. 68,000. The Tata Safari does not have a petrol engine on offer.
Diesel

The base variant of the Tata Safari is the most affordable of the lot.

The base variant of the Tata Safari is the most affordable of the lot. But when it comes to top-end trims, the MG Hector Plus becomes the most affordable. The base trim of the Tata Safari undercuts the base trim of the Hyundai Alcazar by Rs. 1.54 lakh, while the range-topping trim is more expensive by Rs. 56,000. The base variant of the MG Hector Plus undercuts the base trim of the Hyundai Alcazar by Rs. 1.50 lakh while the price difference between the top-end variants stands at Rs. 40,000. So, between the three mid-size SUVs, the Hyundai Alcazar is the most expensive model.
