Kamal Haasan Gifts Director Lokesh Kanagaraj A Lexus ES 300h After The Success Of Vikram

- Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Kamal Haasan's latest movie Vikram
- The Lexus ES 300h is the entry-level luxury sedan from the carmaker
- Kamal and Lokesh are expected to reunite for sequal of the movie Vikram
If you even remotely follow South Indian cinema, then you will know how big of a spectacle the movie Vikram has become. Veteran actor, Kamal Haasan is the leading man in the movie, while the film has been helmed by Tamil cinema's acclaimed director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The multi-lingual movie has been widely appreciated by audiences across India and has become an instant success. Kamal Haasan, who is also the producer of the movie, recently gifted a brand-new Lexus ES 300h luxury sedan to director Lokesh to show his appreciation.
Lokesh Kanagaraj, who himself is a big fan of Kamal Haasan, shared a photo of his receiving the car from the latter on social media. In his Twitter post, he wrote - " Thank you so much Aandavarey @ikamalhaasan" - thanking Kamal for his gesture and calling him 'Aandavarey' which means 'God'.

The Lexus ES 300h is the entry-level model from the Toyota-owned luxury carmaker, and it's a strong hybrid sedan. The facelifted version of the car went on sale in India last year, in October 2021, and it's offered in two variants - Exquisite and Luxury, priced at Rs. 59.50 lakh and Rs. 65.60 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively. And we believe it's the latter that trim that Kamal has gifted Lokesh.
The ES 300h is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine that comes paired with a 240-volt electric unit, making it a hybrid powertrain. The combined output of this system is 214 bhp, while the peak torque from the engine alone stands at 221 Nm. The motor comes mated to an automatic Electronic Continuous Variable Transmission or E-CVT.

Lokesh Kanagaraj is known for several successful movies like Maanagaram, Kaithi and Master, the latter two becoming huge commercial successes. His latest release Vikram is by far his most successful movie, collecting over Rs. 200 crore from the box office in just 5 days. Next, Kanagaraj is expected to direct an untitled movie with the lead of his previous film Master, actor Vijay, while Kamal Haasan is working on his next venture. The actor-director duo is also expected to reunite later for the sequel of Vikram, which will also star actors Suriya, Karthi and Fahad Faasil.
