Kia Carens Three-Row MPV Bookings To Begin From January 14

- Bookings for the Kia Carens MPV will commence on January 14, 2021
- The Carens will come with 2 petrol and 1 diesel engine option
- The Kia Carens 3-Row Vehicle will be launched in Q1 2022
Kia India is gearing up to launch its new three-row vehicle, the Kia Carens, and the company has announced that it will commence booking for the MPV on January 14, 2021. The new Carens is based on the same platform as the Kia Seltos and will rival the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari. While the carmaker has not announced the launch date year, we expect the new Kia Carens to go on sale in India, sometime in February 2021.

Talking about the new Kia Carens, Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India, said, "With the Kia Carens, we want to address the need gap in the three-row family mover segment by truly catering to the evolved needs of extended Indian families. We are confident that Carens, which has been designed for enabling comfort through practical and convenient features, will provide a unique travel experience to the commuters."

The Kia Carens comes with 3 engine choices - Smartstream 1.5-litre petrol, Smartstream 1.4-litre T-GDi turbo-petrol, and a 1.5 CRDi VGT diesel engine
The Kia Carens will be offered in five trim options - Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus, and will come with three engine and three transmission choices. The powertrain options include - Smartstream 1.5-litre petrol, Smartstream 1.4-litre T-GDi turbo-petrol, and a 1.5 CRDi VGT diesel engine. All three engines will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, the turbo-petrol and the oil burner will come with an optional 7-speed DCT automatic and 6-speed torque converter unit, respectively.

The Kia Carens comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest gen Kia Connect, which offers 66 connected car features
The upcoming Kia Carens will be offered in both 6- and 7-seater cabin layout options with a range of premium features like - 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest gen Kia Connect, which offers 66 connected car features. The MPV will also come with Bose premium sound system with 8 speakers, a smart pure air purifier with virus and bacteria protection, ventilated front seats, second-row seats with one-touch easy electric tumble function, and a sunroof.

Kia India will also offer the Carens with a range of standard safety features under the 'Robust 10 Hi-Safety Package. This includes - 6 airbags, electronic stability control, VSM, hill assist control, DBC, ABS, brake assist system, disc brakes on all four wheels, Highline TPMS, and rear parking sensors. All of these will be offered standard across all variants.
