Kia EV6 Sold Out For 2022, Deliveries To Begin By September

- Only 100 units were allocated to India of the Kia EV6 in 2022
- Kia received 355 bookings for the EV6 since order books opened on May 26
- Kia will begin deliveries of the fully imported EV6 from September
The Kia EV6 has been sold out in India for 2022. Kia India announced the development at the launch of the all-electric crossover with prices starting from Rs. 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Kia had previously announced that the EV6 was restricted to only 100 units for India in 2022 and all examples have now been spoken for. Bookings for the EV6 began on May 26, 2022, for a token of Rs. 10 lakh, and Kia says it received 355 bookings for the car over the last few days.

Kia also announced that deliveries of all 100 units allocated for India this year will be completed by September or October this year. The Kia EV6 comes to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and the company says it has asked Kia Global for more units to fulfil the remaining orders. The Korean auto giant will be retailing the EV6 via 15 dealers in 12 cities and will expand to newer cities in the future.

Offered in RWD and AWD versions, the Kia EV6 does not have a direct rival at the moment
The Kia EV6 is the brand's flagship electric offering and is available in two variants - RWD and AWD. The RWD version gets a single motor with 226 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the AWD version gets a dual motor setup with 320 bhp and 650 Nm of peak torque. Both the versions get the same 77.4 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 528 km on the RWD and 425 km on the AWD versions.

The EV6 is the first of the many new electric models that Kia plans to introduce in India at a later date. The automaker will be investing in local R&D and manufacturing for electric vehicles and an India-centric electric car is in the works that will arrive 2025.
