Kia Seltos Compact SUV Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 9.69 Lakh

One of the most anticipated products of the year, the Kia Seltos compact SUV has been finally launched in India with prices starting at Rs. 9.69 lakh for the base petrol, going up to Rs. 15.99 lakh (all prices, showroom) for the range-topping diesel. The Seltos is South Korean carmaker Kia's first product in India and was first showcased as the SP Concept at the 2018 Auto Expo. The company has invested $2 billion in its India operations and the model is being manufactured at the company's facility at Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, which cater to both domestic and export demands. We've driven the Kia Seltos and the compact SUV is promising. It gets a number of segment first features along with all the bells and whistles which are standard in the segment. Kia is also offering the Seltos with three engine and four transmission options, three of which are automatic. The competitive pricing pits it against a number of rivals including the Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, and the Jeep Compass.

Kia Seltos: The Kia Seltos gets sharp styling with European flair and certainly looks handsome with the bold face
The Kia Seltos is being offered in two key trim options - Tech Line and GT Line, each of which ar offered in five variants - E, K, K+, X and X+. The Tech Line brings a more plush and premium appearance with a beige and black cabin with leather upholstery. The GT Line brings a sportier touch to the SUV with an all-black cabin, black leather seats with red contrast stitching and a sporty looking bumper, all of which are targeted at younger buyers.

Kia Seltos: The Kia Seltos gets DRLs and LED as standard across all variants as well as Kia's heartbeat motif
The all-new Kia Seltos is loaded to the brink on the feature front and comes with the jewel effect LED headlamps with signature LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, vertically stacked LED fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable ORVMs with indicators and more. Inside, the compact SUV gets a neatly laid out dashboard with a flat-bottom steering wheel, colour MID unit (on the GT Line), 8-inch smart Heads Up Display (HUD), 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8-speaker Bose Sound System with mood lighting, ambient lighting and wireless phone charging.

The Kia Seltos also comes with ventilated seats, 2-step reclining rear seats, electric sunroof, push button start, electrically adjustable driver's seat, auto climate control, keyless entry, and 360-degree camera. The safety tech adds six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, ESP, hill hold control and blind view monitor. The car uses advanced high strength steel in its construction for improved safety.

The Seltos also comes with the UVO connectivity feature that adds 37 smart features including geofencing, remote engine start with AC control, emergency assistance, navigation, tyre pressure monitoring system and more. The car comes with disc brakes for all four wheels, Lastly, there are multiple driving modes - Normal, Eco and Sport on the DCT GDI combination, while you also gets different traction modes like Snow and Mud.

The Kia Seltos has garnered over 23,000 bookings ever since order books were opened earlier this year, while deliveries will commence soon. Kia is commencing operations in India with 265 touchpoints in 160 cities that include 206 sales points. The launch of the Seltos will be followed by with a new car from Kia every six months, until 2021.
