It's been a year since the Kia Sonet launch in the Indian market and the subcompact SUV has been a blockbuster hit for the Korean carmaker. Kia India has sold over one lakh units of the Kia Sonet in India in the last year and now, the company has launched the first anniversary edition to mark its successful run in India. The Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition gets some cosmetic upgrades and is offered in new body colour options. Here's everything you need to know about the new Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition.

- The limited-edition model is inspired by Aurochs, a large wild Eurasian bull, says Kia. The model gets new front and rear skid plates with tangerine accents that are inspired by the Aurochs.

The Kia Sonet First anniversary edition is available with both - 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel
- The tangerine accents extend to the grille and centre wheel caps, while the model gets new side skid plates, door garnish, and the anniversary edition emblem.
- The Sonet Anniversary edition will be available in four colours - Aurora Black pearl, Glacier white pearl, Steel silver and Gravity grey.
- Kia sold over one lakh units of the Sonet within a year and the sales momentum doesn't seem to be slowing down.
- The Kia Sonet First anniversary edition is available in four configurations. This includes the 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol with the 6-speed iMT and seven-speed DCT, as well as the 1.5-litre diesel with the six-speed manual and automatic gearbox choices.
- In terms of specifications, the standard variants of the Kia Sonet continue to get three powertrain choices - 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated Smartstream, 1.0-litre turbocharged T-GDI petrol and 1.5-litre diesel.
- While the naturally aspirated petrol engine is tuned to make 81 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque, the turbocharged petrol mill makes 117 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre diesel engine belts out 99 bhp and 240 Nm of peak torque.
- Transmission options include the five-speed manual on the Smartstream, while the turbo petrol gets the seven-speed DCT or a six-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (IMT). The 1.5-litre diesel is paired with the six-speed manual and the new six-speed torque convertor.

On the inside, the Kia sonet Anniversary Edition remains unchanged and will get the new Kia Logo on the steering wheel instead of the old logo seen in the picture.
- In terms of features, the subcompact SUV gets paddle shifters across all automatic variants. The car now packs several segment-first features such as rear door sunshade curtains on the top-spec HTX+ and GTX+ trims. It also comes equipped with segment-first voice command for the sunroof open and close feature, which will be available on the HTX, HTX+, GTX+ trims. Other added features include a sunroof, smart key with push-button start, remote engine start, chrome door handles, crystal cut alloys with silver wheel caps and more.
- Kia is now offering safety features like electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), brake assist (BA), and hill assist control (HAC) as standard on the Sonet.
