Lamborghini Urus SUV Teased Ahead of Reveal In December

- Lamborghini will reveal the Urus SUV on December 4
- The Urus will be based on the MLB platform
- The Urus is the spiritual successor of the Lamborghini LM002
Lamborghini has teased its upcoming SUV, the Urus and with what we can see, the production of the car seems to be under way. The Urus was first showcased as a concept in 2012 at the Beijing Motor Show and now five years after we saw the concept, we'll be seeing the car for the first time in the flesh on December 4.

The Urus will be launched in India in 2018
The Urus is the spiritual successor of the LM002 and it will be a game changer for the company. To build the SUV, Lamborghini has constructed a separate facility which is close to the company's factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese. This new facility has seen an investment of more than 400 million and the video gives us a sneak peek into the facility as also the SUV.

The Urus will be built on VW Group's MLB platform
The production-spec version of the Lamborghini Urus will be built on Volkswagen Group's MLB modular platform that also underpins the Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7. Power is expected to come from a 4.0 litre turbocharged V8 engine putting out 650 horsepower and will come equipped with an all-Wheel Drive (AWD) system as well. There is also expected to be a hybrid model in the works but won't make it to production before 2020. Don't expect to see the V8 in the Huracan or the Aventador because the company has made it abundantly clear, that it will be sticking to its one car, one engine philosophy.

The Urus will be equipped with ceramic brakes
But of course, you're thinking, when is the SUV coming to India, right? Well, it's coming in 2018 and we're looking forward to it. Considering, how proactive Lamborghini has been in bringing cars to India, the launch in 2018 doesn't really come as a surprise.
