Lexus Reveals New LY 650 Luxury Yacht

Lexus has pulled the wraps off its new flagship - a 65.5-foot luxury yacht christened LY 650. Claimed to be in line with Lexus International president Yoshihiro Sawa's vision for a brand that "explores new ways to deliver innovative and amazing experiences for our guests," the new LY 650 based on the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept that was revealed some time back. The yacht is also the first production maritime vehicle that employees Lexus' design language L-finesse, which we have seen on the company's flagship models - LS sedan, LX SUV and LC coupé.

As already mentioned, the Lexus LY 650 is the first production luxury yacht from the Japanese carmaker. Measuring a total of 65.5 feet in length, and 18.8 feet in width, the yacht comes with three staterooms, three heads (toilets), and six sleeping rooms. The yacht employs this sharp and elegant design which is further accentuated by the strong, pronounced bow, curved deck accents and accentuated aft hips.

Propelling this 65-footer is a Volvo-sourced IPS 1200 marine engine, which comes as standard, along with an optional Volvo IPS 1350 motor. The former used a 12.8-litre, inline 6-cylinder turbo and supercharged engine that make 789 bhp, while the Volvo IPS 1350 gets an uptuned version of the engine that makes 986 bhp. The yacht comes with a fuel capacity of 3,785 litres, a water capacity of 852 litres, and holding tank capacity of 643 litres.

The Lexus LY 650 will be built and sold by popular Pulaski, Wisconsin-based boat builders, Marquis-Larson Boat Group, who also built the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept. The first Lexus LY 650 yacht is expected to be finished in the second half of 2019 and will make its global debut late in the year.
