Mahindra GenZe Electric Scooter Unveiled

Mahindra Group has unveiled its electric scooter GenZe in the US. The day also marked the inauguration of Mahindra's two-wheeler facility and the North American Technical Center in Southeast Michigan. The event was attended by Michigan Governor, Rick Snyder, Anand Mahindra, chairman, Mahindra Group and Dr. Pawan Goenka, executive director and president - Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors. The facility has the assembling capacity of 9,000 vehicles/year, which can be improved to 20,000 vehicles/year, if required.

We were able to draw on the terrific automotive engineering and manufacturing talent available in the state, to create industry leading initiatives for the United States," said Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group. Mahindra says that the Genze is the first urban transporation vehicle to be offered by the Mahindra Group and is the only two-wheeled electric vehicle of its kind in the United States. The scooter has a range of 48.2kms and a top speed of 48.2kmph. With vehicle's low top speed, a buyer doesn't require a motorcycle lincense to run in most states.
