Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Sketch Revealed; Will Debut at Auto Expo

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has released a sketch of its upcoming Vitara Brezza compact SUV. The car will be showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo set to be held in February and will be launched a few weeks after the event.
The side profile sketch of the Vitara Brezza reveals its square wheel-arches and high shoulder-line that runs parallel to the glasshouse. The rear section can be seen to feature wraparound horizontally mounted tail-lamp clusters and an upright rear windscreen. Not much can be determined about the front-end barring the presence of narrow head-lamp units that similar to the rear tail-lamps, wrap around the front of the car and culminate on its sides. The Brezza has been designed to exhibit balance, a fact which is evident given the neat and sporty SUV-esque look that the image shows it to portray.

In the words of the Vitara Brezza's designer - "Balanced proportion supported by square wheel arches, short overhangs, high ground clearance and an upright hood gives the vehicle a confident stance. The raising belt and rocker lines, and the roofline that slopes down gently towards the rear, give the vehicle a dynamic posture. The body surfaces are natural and sculpted tastefully to create the right interplay of highlight and shadow. Instantly recognizable floating roof over the wraparound greenhouse adds to the visual drama, and makes the Brezza standout in the crowd."

Maruti Suzuki has said that it will release more information and details regarding the Brezza during the run-up to the Auto Expo. The company also unveiled that 'Brezza' is the Italian word for 'fresh-breeze'. Upon its launch, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will likely go up against other hard hitters in the compact SUV segment like the newly launched Hyundai Creta and segment stalwart Renault Duster. The car is expected to cost between Rs 8 lakh - Rs 11 lakh. Maruti may also launch the more premium Vitara S, at a later date.
