Suzuki Vitara S Unveiled; Likely to Debut in India at Auto Expo 2016

The Suzuki Vitara S gets 17-inch alloy wheels, a unique front grille and brushed aluminium finish on the ORVMs. Inside also, the Vitara S gets some premium touches - the air con vents get red surrounds, stitching on the leather wrapped steering wheel also gets the red treatment and aluminium pedals are standard.
The most significant change is under the hood - which now gets a new Boosterjet engine, a 1.4-litre direct injection turbocharged unit that makes 138bhp power and 220Nm of torque. The engine will be available with two transmission options - a six-speed manual 'box or a six-speed automatic.
The Vitara S also gets Suzuki's Allgrip four-wheel drive system as standard. The company claims the Vitara S with the manual transmission can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 10.2 seconds and record a top speed of 200kmph.
Going by the previous generation Vitara's sales, it remains to be seen whether Maruti Suzuki will be willing to bet on the Vitara S, with a possible launch sometime in 2017. So far, there has been no confirmation if and when the Vitara S will be launched in India.
