Mercedes C-Class Adds New Variant in India; Starts Local Production

With the aforementioned launch, the German carmaker has also started its local production here.

The inherent success of this 'World Car of the Year' is evident from the fact that, the C-Class remains an unrivalled product in its segment, emerging as the highest sold model in our portfolio in 2015. With the introduction of the technologically advanced new C 250 d, we further bolster our position and are confident of continuing its unmatched success in India."

The latest variant of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class will come powered by the most powerful and fastest engine in the segment: the 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine . It develops 201bhp along with a maximum torque of 500Nm @ 1600-1800 rpm, which is the highest in the segment. The sedan can go from standstill to 100Km/h in 6.6 seconds on its way to an electronically-limited top-speed of 247Km/h.
List of provisions on the Mercedes-Benz C 250 d include Intelligent assistance systems that comprises the LED Intelligent Light System, Reversing camera with 180-degree view, Attention Assist, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC, and the Garmin MAP PILOT, 17-inch alloy wheels, and ambient lighting. Whereas for safety, it gets ABS, BAS, ESP, ASR, Hill Start Assist, etc..
