Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe Launched in India; Priced at Rs. 86.4 Lakh

The new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is one of the 12 new launches the Stuttgart-based luxury carmaker has planned for India this year. The car is basically a crossover-coupe version of the new 2015 GLE SUV that was launched earlier in India. While it is true that the GLE Coupe comes with an AMG tag, it's largely limited to its design and exteriors features, whereas the engine is merely AMG-enhanced.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe packs 3.0-liter Biturbo V-6 engine under the hood that is capable of producing a maximum of 362bhp and peak torque of 520 Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 9-speed automatic gearbox that is claimed to offers greater range of ratios and shorter steps between gears. The GLE also comes with Mercedes' signature 4Matic all-wheel-drive system that comes with AMG-specific transfer case with a permanent 40:60 front/rear torque split, for improved handling dynamics.

Coming to its design and styling, the GLE Coupe is comes with an aggressive stance the further accentuated by the distinguishing character lines. The front section of the car is largely identical to its SUV cousin that is evidently seen from the large grille, the Mercedes-Benz Logo at the centre and the infused air dam and air intakes that GLE a growling face. What's new here is the Active LED headlamps with LED DRLs, which are much better than the standard Bi-Xenon headlamps and offers Active Curve Illumination and Adaptive Highbeam. The GLE 450 AMG Coupe also comes with 21-inch AMG twin 5-spoke alloy wheels and horizontal taillamps that features a fibre-optic dual "torch" design and LED turn signals and brake lamps.
Inside, the GLE 450 AMG features a luxuriously crafted cabin built with premium quality materials, sporty upholstery and Nappa leather multi-functional steering wheel among other features. Some other comfort features include heated front seats, Dual-zone automatic climate control, power tilt/telescopic steering column and more optional features. On safety front, the car comes with attention assist, rearview camera, adaptive breaking technology, electronic stability programme along with other optional offerings like blind spot assist and lane keeping assist among others.
