After teasing its EQXX concept which will debut in 2022, a report from China has emerged that Daimler, the parent behind the Mercedes Benz brand also has plans for launching an EV that's dedicated to China. The timeline for the launch of this EV is 2024.

Given the fact that the Vision EQXX concept is being primed as a 1,000 km compact electric vehicle, the report could be eluding towards the production version of the very same vehicle. According to the report, Mercedes wants to adopt a wait and watch approach with regards to sales in the China region, and once proven successful, it even intends to take the vehicle out of the country and sell it in other markets.

The Vision EQXX model will be shown off as a concept in January presumably in tandem with CES in the US. However, since there is great gravitation towards premium vehicles in China, this could be a different model as well.

China is already the world's largest EV market and already for the German giant, it is one of the biggest markets. This is also in line with Daimler's plan of turning into a full-fledged electric car maker.
