MINI Introduces New Logo For 2018

- The new logo will be making it to cars starting from March 2018
- The current logo was introduced in 2001 when the brand was relaunched
- The new two-dimensional logo will be adaptive to different surfaces
British carmaker MINI is one of the more iconic auto brands around the world has introduced its new logo for 2018. The BMW Group automaker has announced that its new logo will be badged across its models starting from March next year. The new MINI logo derives its styling from the existing version and is essentially a more simplified iteration of the chrome wheel with wings. The current MINI logo was first introduced way back in 2001 with the relaunch of the brand. The new logo can be already seen on the MINI Electric concept that was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.

The new MINI logo draws inspiration from the current three-dimensional logo. It applied the visual expression known as "flat design" with key graphic elements. The new logo continues to sport the MINI branding in capital letters, albeit in a two-dimensional character. The shades of grey for the wings have also made for a more flat black and white effect for a more clarity of the new brand. The new and simplified logo will find more universal application and will be able to adapt to more surfaces, especially the digital medium more easily.

The new logo will be applied across all MINI models from next year onward and will be seen on the bonnet, boot, steering wheel as well the key fob, among other places. The brand says the new logo reflects its commitment to the tradition of the British brand which has a history of almost 60 years.
The logo transformation for MINI also talks about the company's changing norms. The British automaker has been exploring the electric space and the MINI Electric concept is a glimpse of what can be expected from the company in the future.
