Jawa motorcycles are iconic machines loved by millions of people all over the world. The company Ideal Jawa produced and sold licensed motorcycles in India under the name Yezdi in 1973. These motorcycles have a cult following till date and have also been seen in many movies from the classics to the modern hits. Chashme Buddoor
The silver Yezdi featured in this movie shared a lot of screentime with the actors and was also in the song ‘pyaar lagawat kare muhabat'. The actors take the bike for a spin in the song and the audience goes on a fun ride with them as it brings back good memories for them.

Ishaqzaade
An old yellow coloured Yezdi is seen in the movie Ishaqzaade. The movie was Arjun Kapoor's debut movie and he hated this motorcycle initially. Arjun soon came around and loved riding the bike on-set between shots. The Yezdi was truly something to fall in love with.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was seen riding a black Yezdi painted with pink and red decals in the 1994 blockbuster. The film showed Shah Rukh Khan's character travelling through the beautiful roads of Goa on the Yezdi to meet the love of his life once again.

Naa Ninna Mareyalare

The Yezdi went through a lot of difficult scenes in this highly praised Kannada movie. The actor Rajkumar put the Yezdi through the ringer as it went from high traffic areas to climbing a steep hill and subsequently crashing down it. Even after going through this, the Yezdi survived and led the hero to his destination which was the love of his life.

In this 1979 movie, Mithun Chakraborty can be seen riding a Yezdi while being chased by the bad guys. The chase goes through tough spaces like huge pipes and a housing complex, the scenes after this showed the protagonist taking the bike up an elevator, and performing a jump from one rooftop to another.

The company Ideal Jawa which manufactured the motorcycles stopped its production due to growing competition after which the Yezdi bikes became collector items. Many people in India still ride these classic bikes and their presence in movies have made them even more special. The Jawa name recently made a comeback into the market under the company classic legends which is a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra. Jawa bikes now come in three options - Jawa, Jawa Forty-Two and Jawa Perak. These new bikes are also making an appearance in cinema with films like Soorarai Pottru, Edakkad Battalion 06 and Kurup.
