The chromed fuel tank with pinstriping and a dominant BSA Gold Star logo is inspired by the tank design of the yesteryears' BSA M24 and the DB34 Gold Star from the 1950s.
The new BSA Gold Star retains the essence of its predecessor, including the round headlamp sitting neatly below the signature twin-pod instrument console, with almost the same proportions. The chromed fuel tank with pinstriping and a dominant BSA Gold Star logo is another design inspiration from the Gold Star models of the past. The engine covers also harks back to the BSAs of the past, as well as the silencer design, rear fender with trademark stays, which are all iconic elements of the original Gold Star's design.

With a 18-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel, and a minimalistic rear end, the new Gold Star gets LED lighting, but retains its classic design lines.
Ashish Singh Joshi, Director of BSA Company Ltd., added, "For us, the new BSA Gold Star is not just a motorcycle, but an emotion and we pursued the journey of bringing BSA back with utmost passion. To stay authentic to its roots, the new Gold Star was designed and engineered in the UK. The new motorcycle incorporates BSA's DNA and stays a Gold Star that is true to its lineage."

The frame is a tubular steel double-cradle design, and brakes are discs with Brembo calipers and standard dual-channel ABS.
The frame is a tubular steel dual cradle design, and suspension is handled by 41 mm telescopic front forks, and twin shocks at the rear featuring 5-step preload adjustability. Wheels are in a combination of a 18-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked type design, shod with Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres, while braking duties are handled by a single 320 mm front disc with a Brembo two-piston floating caliper and a single 255 mm rear disc, gripped by a Brembo single-piston floating caliper. Dual-channel ABS is standard. Fuel tank capacity is 12 litres and the new BSA Gold Star has a kerb weight of 213 kg.

BSA Motorcycles, the brand of BSA Company Ltd., is a motorcycle manufacturer acquired in 2016 by Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group. The new BSA Motorcycles brand aspires to build motorcycles that retain the DNA of the original Birmingham-based BSA brand. The new BSA motorcycles have been designed in the UK, by the brand's UK Tech Centre in Coventry. Eventually, BSA Motorcycles intends to start manufacturing in the UK as well, positioning the new BSA motorcycles as a global brand. As things stand today, Classic Legends has no plans of introducing the new range of BSA motorcycles in India yet.
