New Gen Hyundai Santro Interior Spied For The First Time

- The all-new Hyundai Santro is set to arrive towards the end of the year
- The new gen Hyundai Santro will be using a 1.0-litre three-cylinder motor
- The new gen Santro will take on the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R & Renault Kwid
Hyundai will be making a grand comeback to the entry-level car segment and the much awaited model will be a successor to the highly successful Santro hatchback. While the official name is yet to be confirmed, spy shots of the new generation Hyundai Santro have been doing the rounds on the internet for a while now, and new images have emerged giving a glimpse of the interior on the hatchback. The all-new Hyundai Santro is expected to make its debut later this year, possibly around the festive season.

Spy shots of the new generation Hyundai Santro test mule reveal a dual-tone, beige and black cabin with the colours extending to the fabric upholstery for the seats. There is a three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls, similar to the base trims of the Hyundai Grand i10. The plastic looks basic while the there is a twin-pod instrument console with possibly a MID unit in the centre.

The car will also come with front power windows, while the door lock is finished in brushed silver. Much like the Grand i10, the dash-mounted gearshift lever is expected to feature on the all-new Hyundai Santro as well. Other prominent features include electrically adjustable ORVMs and adjustable headrests on the car, while the test mule was riding on steel wheels. Reports also suggest that Hyundai could introduce a touchscreen infotainment system on its new entry-level hatchback, to take on the Renault Kwid.

On the design front, the Hyundai's all-new offering will continue to feature a tall boy design language in a bid to maximise cabin space and comfort. The car looks wider than the Santro with a more curvaceous bodystyle, while we expect to see Hyundai's cascade grille and large headlamps gracing the front.
Power on the new gen Hyundai Santro hatchback is expected to come from a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that will be offered with a manual transmission, while the option of an AMT is also said to be in the works. The small car will take on the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Renault Kwid as well as the Tata Tiago in the segment.
