New Mercedes C-Class Unveiled at CeBIT, Bangalore; Launch on Nov 25

Mercedes-Benz India and Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India (MBRDI) jointly showcased some of its latest products at the CeBIT Bangalore, including the new C-Class that is slated to launch on November 25, 2014 in India. The whole idea behind showcasing its products at the CeBIT was to exhibit how much IT (Information Technology) has become the backbone of automobile engineering today and its growing importance in the future. Just so you know, CeBIT is the world's largest computer Expo that has taken place for the first time in India.
"Our customers expect not only appealing design, outstanding quality and superb performance from a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, they also like to stay connected, entertained and informed when using their vehicles", explained Eberhard Kern, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India.
"We offer our customers an ideal in-car infotainment system and the new C-Class sets benchmark in terms of integrating next generation telematics and IT systems. We are constantly implementing the latest technologies available, up to the stage where we are a front-runner in the development of semi-autonomous and autonomous driving.", he added further.
The new C-Class is claimed to be longer and wider than the outgoing model, however, the height of the car has been decreased by 5mm to 1442mm. The car is now 95mm longer to 4686mm, and wide by 40mm to 1810mm. The boot space too has been increased by 5mm to 480-litres. The new-gen model will come in only petrol model first, whereas the diesel model will come by early 2015. The petrol model is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder unit that is good for 208bhp and 350Nm of peak torque.
