Official: Bookings open for the 2014 Jaguar XJ in India

The British luxury marque Jaguar's Indian arm has started taking pre-orders for the 2014 XJ, which will be rolled out in June. The car was earlier displayed at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February. Interested buyers can book the sedan by paying Rs 5 lakh. The Jaguar XJ will be brought via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route and then assembled at the company's Pune based facility. Because of the local assembly, we can expect a reasonable drop in the price of the car.
The 2014 Jaguar XJ's long-wheelbase models feature 'airline' style reclining seats with massage function, increased headroom and fold-out business tables. The rear suspension too has been re-tuned to enhance rear seat ride comfort. Also on offer will be an optional rear seat entertainment package that includes two rear seat touchscreens, mounted on the rear of the front seat headrests.
The 2014 Jaguar XJ will feature Jaguar's stop-start system, wich uses a Twin Solenoid Starter (TSS) to shut down the engine when the car stops, and restart it as soon as the driver accelerates. In the international markets, the Jaguar XJ is offered in 15 colours, and we hope all the shades to be offered in our market as well.
Globally, the 2014 XJ engine is offered with a 3.0-litre V6 petrol and diesel engines, as well as two supercharged 5.0-litre units producing 503bhp, 543bhp ( in the XJR). However, what all engines will be made available in India, will be a bit early to comment.
