Ola Electric Scooters Face Quality Issues; Company Says All Issues Fixed

- Ola Electric customers complain on social media about quality issues
- Company says all issues resolved swiftly, and happened during transit
- Ola electric scooter deliveries to customers are likely to be delayed
Ola Electric has been hit with delayes in production and some customers are also unhappy with the quality of the electric scooters delivered to them. Among the problems reported by customers on social media are mechanical issues, problems with build quality, as well as range offered on full charge. Ola Electric launched its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters on August 15, 2021, and the company announced on December 15, 2021 that it has begun deliveries of the electric scooters to its customers, after several delays. Now, Ola Electric says that the company has shipped almost 4,000 scooters in December.

Ola S1 electric scooter deliveries have begun, but many customers are complaining about quality issues, ranging from finish, build quality, mechanical issues and range.
Latest reports quote Arun Sirdeshmukh, Chief Business Officer, Ola Electric as saying that almost 4,000 Ola electric scooters have been shipped to customers across several cities, and few issues raised by customers have been mostly caused during transit, which have been resolved swiftly. The clarification from Ola Electric comes after several customers took to social media, to voice their disappointment, over quality and mechanical issues and also on actual range offered by the Ola electric scooters.

Ola Electric has said that many issues were caused during transit, and have been resolved swiftly. Recent reports also indicate that production has been slow, and deliveries are likely to be delayed.
Recent reports also indicated that production of Ola electric scooters have been delayed yet again, and for many customers who had already paid the booking amount, deliveries are likely to be delayed. On its part, Ola Electric maintains that the company has been facing production issues owing to the global chip shortage and supply chain constraints. With delays in production, it will be hard to meet over 90,000 orders Ola Electric says it has already received. The pressure of meeting delivery targets has also led to several key departures from Ola Electric's senior management.

Ola Electric S1 and S1 Pro scooters looked promising at launch. carandbike has yet to test ride any of the electric scooters from Ola, and cannot vouch for the quality issues being reported by some reviewers, as well as customers.
Ola Electric organised a first ride experience of its electric scooters, and according to reports, some of those test units lacked quality issues which could not be termed production-ready, and meant for customers. carandbike cannot independently vouch for those quality issues since Ola Electric did not invite carandbike to participate in the first ride experience of its electric scooters.

Ola Electric is building the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters, with an all-women work crew, at its Futurefactory
Ola Electric had pledged to build the world's largest electric scooter factory, and the company doesn't have any physical dealerships. Customers can book an Ola electric scooter online, and get it delivered at home. As part of an ambitious goal of creating charging infrastructure, Ola Electric has announced that it will install more than 4,000 charging points for its electric scooters across India by next year. For a brand built on hype, and a promising product, all this is bad news, which is certainly going to hurt Ola Electric, and the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters, which created quite a buzz at the time of launch.
