Piaggio Partners With MoEVing To Supply 500 Electric Three Wheelers By 2022

- Piaggio will be supplying its Ape' E-Xtra FX cargo electric 3-wheeler
- MoEVing will be inducting 130 units of the Ape' E-Xtra FX immediately
- MoEVing aims to add a total of 500 units of Ape' E-Xtra FX by 2022
Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL) has entered a partnership with the electric fleet service provider, MoEVing, to supply electric three-wheelers to the latter for last-mile delivery. Under this deal, MoEVing aims to add a total of 500 units of the Piaggio Ape' E-Xtra FX cargo three-wheeler to its existing fleet by 2022. In fact, the company will be inducting 130 units of the Ape' E-Xtra FX Cargo to its fleet with immediate effect. The two companies believe that the partnership will help accelerate the adoption of electric 3-wheelers in India in the last mile transportation segment.

Speaking about the tie-up, Saju Nair, EVP-CV Business, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. said, "Our recently launched cargo variant Ape' E-Xtra FX has received tremendous response from customers in a short span of time. Through this partnership with MoEVing, we will further amplify our efforts towards creating affordable & sustainable last-mile connectivity solutions in goods movement space."

On the other hand, Vikash Mishra, founder of MoEVing, said "Product quality and lower cost of operation on a daily basis is an extremely important component that Piaggio's Ape' E-Xtra model brings to the table. We aim to increase our Ape' E-Xtra fleet to 500 nos. by next year and aim to deploy these vehicles across the country with various e-commerce players for last-mile order delivery."
MoEVing says that it delivers technology-enabled electric mobility solutions for the urban last and middle mile delivery that is designed to suit customers' unique logistics requirements. The company offers an integrated approach of demand aggregation, supply optimization, and connected charging infrastructure for various applications including e-commerce. Currently, the company is operating in 9 cities across India and plans to expand to more than 100 cities in the next 3-5 years.

The Ape E-Xtra offers a range of up to 90 km, with a top speed of 45 kmph
Piaggio's Ape E-Xtra FX for the cargo space comes with an 8 kWh Lithium-Ion battery that powers the electric motor to produce an output of 9.55 kW, equivalent to 12.8 bhp, and it develops a peak torque of 45 Nm. The Ape E-Xtra offers a range of up to 90 km, with a top speed of 45 kmph. It comes with a 6-feet deck area that can be customised for the delivery segment as well. The Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of the vehicle stands at 975 kg, while the E-Xtra comes with a payload capacity of 506 kg.
