Renault Kwid EV Spotted Undisguised Ahead Of Debut

- The Renault Kwid EV will essentially be a rebadged Dacia Spring EV.
- The Spring EV made its debut at the start of 2024.
- Expected to get a 26.8 kWh battery with 220 km claimed range.
The upcoming Renault Kwid EV has been spied in undisguised form ahead of its world premiere. Spotted at a dock in Brazil, the EV, as expected, shares much of its design with the Dacia Spring EV, which made its debut at the start of 2024. Having been spotted several times over the years in India, the Kwid EV is a product that’s expected to make it to Indian shores, although, there’s no official confirmation from Renault on when that will happen.

The Renault Kwid EV will essentially be a rebadged version of the Dacia Spring EV
Visually, the new Kwid EV will feature a more contemporary design than the model sold in India, although the silhouette appears to be largely similar to the outgoing model. The new styling cues include new daytime running lamp (DRL) clusters with horizontal signatures, underneath which sit the polygonal headlamps. The charging port of the EV is located up front, where the Renault logo is situated. The rear end meanwhile, now gets new taillamps that flank a contrast black panel.

While the interior isn’t shown in the images, the layout will likely be the same as the Spring EV. The Spring EV’s interior features a freestanding central touchscreen, a digital instruments cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a toggle-style switch for a gear shifter

Globally, the Dacia Spring Electric comes with two electric motor options – a 44 bhp motor and a more powerful 64 bhp variant. Both are powered by a 26.8 kWh battery, offering a range of 220 km on a single charge. It is quite likely that the same powertrain options will be on offer in the Kwid EV when it goes on sale in the Indian market.
