Electric vehicle manufacturer BYD's partner in Nepal, Cimex Inc., has signed an agreement with Self Drive Nepal, a subsidiary of Spark Group for emission-free rental fleet operation in the country. Self Drive has placed an order for 50 units of BYD's all-electric MPV, the e6, and this is the single largest order for Electric Vehicle Fleet Operation in South Asia received by BYD. On April 20, 2022, Cimex Inc. and Self Drive signed a framework agreement making the latter the exclusive rental partner for BYD electric vehicles.
BYD says that the introduction of a luxury electric vehicle fleet operation in Nepal, with the e6 MPV, is a huge milestone for both companies. Self Drive has already commenced its fleet operations with the BYD e6, and the company says that it will offer low-cost, zero-emission, chauffeured cars to corporate and private clients in Kathmandu.
