Skoda Kushaq SUV Bags Over 6,000 Bookings Since Launch

- The Skoda Kushaq SUV is underpinned by the MQB-A0-IN platform
- The Kushaq is priced in the range of Rs. 10.50 - Rs. 17.59 Lakh (ex-)
- The compact SUV is locally made with over 95 per cent local content
Skoda Auto India has announced that the 2021 Kushaq compact SUV has received around 6,000 bookings since its launch. However, the company is yet to disclose details of which trim or transmission has received maximum traction from customers. The compact SUV was introduced in the country last month with starting price of Rs. 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The deliveries of the Kushaq 1.0-litre TSI commenced in mid-July while the powerful 1.5-litre TSI variants will be delivered to customers from this month.

Deliveries of the Skoda Kushaq 1.0-litre TSI began in mid-July
The carmaker recently announced that it has registered 234 per cent sales growth in the month of July 2021. Last month, Skoda sold 3,080 cars in our market compared to 922 cars in the same period last year. In fact, this surge in sales number is fuelled by the launch of the compact SUV.
Zac Hollis, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, said, "Kushaq was launched with the vision of substantially growing our volumes in India, and it is very encouraging to see our plan taking shape. Despite a challenging environment, we have managed to have a really successful launch, which is in line with our strategic focus and volume expectations. Moreover, the new launch has enabled us to build a strong momentum across the value chain."

The Skoda Kushaq is built on an India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform with over 95 per cent of local content. The Kushaq SUV is priced in the range of Rs. 10.50 lakh to Rs. 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is available in a total of seven variants across three trims - Active, Ambition and Style.
Under the hood, the Skoda Kushaq SUV is offered with a choice of two petrol engines - a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI. The former is tuned to make 113 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque and comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox along with optional six-speed automatic transmission. The latter makes 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque and comes mated with a 6-speed manual and an optional seven-speed DSG gearbox.
