Suzuki Intruder FI To Be Launched In India In Early 2018

- The Suzuki Intruder has the same underpinnings as the Gixxer
- The Suzuki Intruder is powered by a 155 cc, air-cooled engine
- The Intruder 150 goes up against the Bajaj Avenger Street 150
Suzuki Motorcycle India's newly launched 150 cc cruiser motorcycle, the Suzuki Intruder, will soon get fuel injection (FI). The new Suzuki Intruder FI will be launched in India early next year and it will get the same unit which the company offers with the fuel injected Suzuki Gixxer SF. It's likely that Suzuki might launch the new Intruder FI at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo, or just showcase it there followed by a launch later. As of now, we do not expect to see any other major updates in terms of design or styling in the upcoming Suzuki Intruder FI.
The Suzuki Intruder 150 is powered by the 154.9 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 14 bhp at 8,000 rpm, and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. On the features front, the new Suzuki Intruder 150 is a lot more equipped compared to its rivals and comes with projector headlamp, LED taillight, alloy wheels, and a nice wide bucket-style seat for the rider. The bike gets disc brakes for both front and rear wheel with single-channel ABS.
The only other motorcycle in Suzuki's Indian line-up that gets fuel injection right now is the Suzuki Gixxer SF, which gets the same mechanicals as the Intruder. In fact, Suzuki is quite likely to introduce a fuel injected Gixxer as well but we are yet to get any information on that.
The new Suzuki Intruder is the first low-capacity cruiser motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer and bike mainly rivals the likes of the Bajaj Avenger range. While in terms of displacement, the bike rivals the Avenger 150 Street, pricing-wise, the bike is more expensive than the Avenger 220 Cruise.
