Tae-Jin Park To Replace Kookhyun Shim As MD And CEO Of Kia India

- Tae-Jin Park will be Kia India's MD & CEO effective from October 4, 2021
- Kookhyun Shim, the current MD & CEO, is retiring and moving back to Korea
- Tae-Jin Park has been associated with Kia Corporation since 1987
Kia India has announced appointing Tae-Jin Park as the company's new Managing Director and CEO. Park will be replacing Kia India's current MD & CEO, Kookhyun Shim, to spearhead the overall local operations for the carmaker effective from October 4, 2021. Tai-Jin Park currently serves as the Executive Director and Chief Sales & Business Strategy Officer (CSBO). In his new role as MD & CEO Park will be responsible for the company's growth and market expansion in the country. He will also oversee the entire manufacturing, product strategy and development, business planning and sales.

Kookhyun Shim, the current MD & CEO of Kia India, is retiring from his services and will move back to South Korea. Shim took the helm of the company back in January 2018 and played a key role in helping Kia achieve a strong foothold in the Indian market. It was under his supervision that Kia India completed its 536-acre manufacturing unit in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and launched successful products like the Seltos and Sonet.

As for Tae-Jin Park, he comes with over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, with expertise in penetrating new markets. Before working for Kia India, Kia India, he served at the headquarters of Kia Corporation as Head of Operations for the Middle East, Africa and Asia based in Seoul, South Korea. Park has also served as the Chief Sales Officer, Kia Mexico. He has been associated with Kia Corporation since 1987.
