Tata Kite 5 Subcompact Sedan To Be Launched In March 2017

- Tata Kite 5 subcompact sedan will be launched in India in March 2017
- The Kite 5's first public debut was at the 2016 Auto Expo
- Tata Kite 5 borrows design inputs and features from the Tiago hatchback
Based on the same design platform that underpins the carmaker's top-selling hatchback Tiago, the Kite 5 subcompact sedan was first publically displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo. Tata has said that the car has received design inputs from the company's design centres in Pune, Italy, and the UK. In fact, the Kite 5 will borrow several styling cues and features from its hatchback cousin Tiago.
Coming to the car itself, the Tata Kite 5 comes with a wide honeycomb-pattern grille flanked by wraparound headlamps and a curvy bumper. It also gets a wide central airdam along with large circular chrome-tipped foglamps. From the sides, the car gives you the impression of being a notchback and we won't shy away from saying that it is the best-looking subcompact sedan from Tata Motors yet. Other exterior features include a chrome strip on the boot-lid, high-mounted LED stop lamp and wrap-around taillamps.

Moving to the interior, the Tata Kite 5's cabin also tends to remind of the Tiago, thanks to a similar layout and features. Delving into details: the upcoming Tata Kite5 sedan will receive a three-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, reverse camera, rear centre arm rest with cup holders, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity. The car's list of safety provisions is likely to include ABS and dual front airbags on select trims.
Tata Kite 5 will be offered with the same engine options as the Tiago hatchback, namely, the 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol and the 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel. For transmission, the Tata Kite5 will initially receive only a 5-speed manual transmission. The possibility of the introduction of an AMT equipped variant has been reserved for the future
