The Best Vehicles in the Matrix Series

- The Lincoln Continental in the movies was not black in colour
- One of the car wasn't in production at the time of the movies release
- The biggest engine in this list is a 6.0 Litre
The original trilogy of the Matrix films is engraved as an integral part of Hollywood history. With the new Matrix Resurrections hitting theatres, let's take a look back at some of the best vehicles used in the original trilogy of this series. From a simple civic to a Ducati.
1965 Lincoln Continental

Starting with the most famous car in the series, the Lincoln Continental. This car has been in every iteration of the Matrix films. This is the poster car of the series. This was selected for the films as the filmmakers wanted to give these movies a certain type of Neo retro sci-Fi aesthetic, which this car surely does aid in providing. The car was first seen in the first Matrix film where the protagonist, “Neo” was picked up by the good guys in this very car. Although this car seems to be black in colour, in actuality the filmmakers insisted that the car be a custom made dark green colour with a green tint. The 1965 Lincoln Continental came equipped with a 7.0 Litre V8 producing a whopping 324 bhp of power and 630 Nm of torque.
2001 Cadillac Escalade EXT

This interesting car was spotted in the famous highway chase seen in the second film, Matrix Reloaded. The Cadillac Escalade was seen driven by the bad guys during the chase scene, in which they leap upon and commandeer other vehicles too. An interesting fact, however, is that the Escalade EXT did not go up on sale yet in the year 2001. In fact, GM took this Matrix movie as an opportunity to unveil their new Escalade with a truck bed set up in the back, and so here it is in the movie. The Ext's seen in the movies are preproduction units. The Escalade EXT came with a 6.0 Litre V8 pushing out 350 bhp and 515 Nm of torque.
1999 Ducati 996

This motorcycle was present in the famous highway chase scene as well. Ridden by Trinity, the bike was shown to be stolen off of a carrier truck. This motorcycle was a part of some of the most incredible stunts in the movie, from jumping off of a truck, to doing a 180 and driving into incoming traffic on the freeway. This Ducati too was spotted with the same Matrix dark green paint on. The Ducati 996 came with a 996-cc inline 4-cylinder engine with an output of 112 bhp and 93 Nm of torque.
