Toyota Gazoo GR Super Sport Concept Teased Ahead Of Debut Next Month

Toyota's motorsport organisation, Gazoo Racing has teased the GR super sport concept ahead of its debut at next year's Tokyo Auto Salon. We had earlier reported that Toyota is working on a new racing concept under the Gazoo Racing brand, which manufactures for the Le Mans. While the Japanese car-makers had showcased the Toyota GR HV Sports concept at the Tokyo Motor Show, the new GR Super Sport Concept will compete at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in May. Toyota Gazoo Racing will announce the drivers for the Le Mans race on January 12.

While we cannot make out much from the teaser image, it is clear that the GR Super Sport Concept will share resemblance with the Le Mans styled race car. Like the Le Mans race cars, the GR Super Sport Concept will come with free-flowing fenders, long raked roofline; rear-spoiler on tail section and honey-comb finish at rear end of the concept. The chrome finished alloy wheels look impressive but don't ooze out the race car look.
While Toyota has not revealed the technical specs of the GR Super Sport Concept, we expect it to come with a 2.4-litre, turbocharged V6 engine that has the ability to sprint from 0-100kmph in just 3 seconds. Reports also suggest that the GR Super Sport Concept will be coupled with a hybrid powertrain, as it with most of the Le Mans race cars.

In addition to vehicles competing in motorsports such as the Yaris WRC and TS050 Hybrid, Toyota Gazoo Racing will also exhibit production vehicles such as the 86 GR and the Vitz GRMN, a 150-unit limited edition model for Japan.
