Toyota Yaris G Optional Variant Introduced; Prices Start At Rs. 9.63 Lakh

- The Toyota Yaris G Optional comes in both manual and CVT-i option
- The Yaris G Optional with CVT-i transmission is priced at Rs. 10.83 lakh
- The Optional trims get 3 airbags instead of 7 airbags
Just days after announcing the launch of the J-Optional and V-Optional variants for the Toyota Yaris, the Japanese carmaker has now silently introduced a mid-spec G-Optional trim as well. Priced at Rs. 9.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) the new Toyota Yaris G-Optional variant is positioned right between the J and G trims borrows a mix of features from these two models. So, except for the top-of-the-line VX trim, all three variants get an optional trim as well, and like the rest of the variants, the G-Optional also comes in both manual and CVT-I automatic version, which is priced at Rs. 10.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

In terms of exterior features, the Toyota Yaris G Optional variant comes with features like - 15-inch silver alloy wheels, projector headlamps, chrome grille, shark-fin antenna, and ORVM-mounted turn indicators. The cabin, on the other hand, gets dual-tone interior with waterfall design instrument panel, along with fully-automatic climate control, 4.2-inch TFT colour display for the instrument cluster, and cooled glovebox. Other features include the signature roof-mounted air vent with ambient light, height-adjustable driver seat, keyless entry with smart entry and push-button start, multi-functional steering wheel, and electrically operable ORVMs.

In terms of safety features, the car comes with ABS with EBD and brake assist, rear parking sensors, front and rear foglamps, rear defogger, driver and passenger seat belt reminder, high-speed alert, central locking, speed sensing auto door locks and impact sensing door unlock function. Also, like the other optional trims, the G-Optional gets 3 airbags (dual front + driver knee) instead of the 7 airbags offered with all the non-Optional variants. So, essentially the Optional trims are for those who seek more creature comforts at the expense of the side and curtain airbags, which come as standard on all variants, at a lesser price tag.
Under the hood, the Toyota Yaris gets the same 1.5-litre petrol engine that churns out 108 bhp of max power and 140 Nm of peak torque and comes mated to either a 6-Speed manual gearbox or an optional 7-step CVT-i automatic gearbox.
