TVS Apache 200 Adventure on the Cards?

- The spied Apache featured a Deltabox frame, semi-fairing, and windshield
- The bike is claimed to be a customer concept and not a company prototype
- TVS is yet to begin deliveries of the standard Apache RTR 200 in India
The bike which was being transported on a flatbed came in a red and white paint scheme with some new equipment as well. The most prominent change to the bike is the Deltabox chassis, which is in addition to the new swing arm, revised body panels, semi-fairing, an extra-large windshield, and wider handle bars among other cosmetic changes. Features that further brings out the bike's adventure tourer DNA include - knuckle guard, wider mirrors, and panniers. The bike that was spotted recently was the fuel injected version and even came with the TVS Racing and Apache badging. The adventure version also gets regular dual front disc brakes instead of the single petal disc brakes from the standard version.

TVS Apache 200 Adventure Front End
Now frankly, the bike seems more like a sport tourer based on the TVS Apache 2004V. Although the high windshield and hand guards also give it adventure credentials, there's no other equipment like long travel suspension, high ground clearance and spoked wheels to make it an adventure bike. It may be called the Apache 200 Adventure, going by the global popularity of adventure bikes these days.

TVS Apache 200 Adventure Rear Profile
All that said it is in fact too soon for TVS to bring out an adventure tourer version of the new Apache, especially considering the fact that the bike is still relatively new in Indonesia and in India, TVS is yet to begin the deliveries of the bike in the country. While there is the possibility that this could be an early prototype, in which case it really looks production ready. But in case it is a customer concept, we have to say they couldn't have done a better job.
In any case TVS has shown signs that it is planning to explore new products based on Apache RTR 200 V4 and we would love to see an Adventure Tourer in future. That said at present we are simply waiting for the ABS version of the bike, which TVS Motor had promised during the launch of the current street fighter version.
