Two-Wheeler Sales July 2022: Ather Energy Sells 2,389 Units

- Ather Energy sold 2,389 units in the month of July 2022.
- The EV manufacturer reported a sales growth of 24% YoY.
- A shut down in production line saw MoM sales decline by 26%.
Ather Energy announced its sales figures for the month of July 2022, and the electric two-wheeler manufacturing company sold 2,389 units. This figure saw a 24 per cent year on year growth, however the number was significantly lower than the 3,321 units it sold in the month of June 2021, marking a 26 per cent decrease. Ather Energy also updated its 450 Plus and 450 X electric scooters to have a larger battery, larger tyres and rear view mirrors, and Ather Energy said that its production line was closed for 2 weeks to facilitate the transition to the new models, accounting for the decline in sales.

Talking about last month, Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy said, “July was an exciting month for Ather, as we launched the next generation of our 450 series of scooters - the 450X Gen 3”. “Most of the sales are from the last 10 days of the month, as our production line was shut for a couple of weeks to facilitate the transition to the new product. We are confident that the new scooter will allow us to capture a larger market share in the coming months. Furthermore, our continuous efforts to strengthen our supply chain is gradually paying off as we see supply chain constraints ease and are hopeful that our monthly volumes will increase significantly”.
Ather Energy is also looking to expand its retail footprint to three new markets in the upcoming months. Currently, Ather is present in 38 markets and has 45 experience centres. Ather Energy currently has 2 models on offer, the Ather 450 Plus & the Ather 450 X.
