(Hero said that sales in May 2021 suffered because of lockdowns and temporary production of suspension, on account of the second wave of COVID-19)
Considering the situation, Hero says that sales volume of May 2021 is not comparable with either May 2020 or April 2021. The general sales uptake in May 2020 was slow and hence the abnormal growth is a one-off instance. The month-on-month figures reveal the true picture and suggest that the company lost ground in May 2021 on account of partial lockdowns in many states of the country along with temporary suspension of manufacturing at all plants. Hero said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and will move to double-shift production gradually.
