Updated TVS Apache RTR 310 Launched In India At Rs 2.40 Lakh; Gets Launch Control, Drag Torque Control

- The TVS Apache RTR 310 now gets Drag Torque Control as standard.
- BTO kit 2 version is now offered with launch control.
- Continues to be powered by the same 312 cc reverse-inclined liquid-cooled mill.
TVS Motor Company has launched the updated iteration of the Apache RTR 310 in India. The changes on the motorcycle, while minor, are mainly aimed at improving its power delivery and overall rideability. Much like the older version, the motorcycle is offered in two main variants – Base (Rs 2.40 lakh) and Top (Rs 2.57 lakh), with two built-to-order kits also on offer, priced at Rs 2.75 lakh (Dynamic) and Rs 2.84 lakh (Dynamic Pro) respectively. Opting for the Sepang Blue paint scheme will bump up the price of the bike by a further Rs 10,000, depending on the built-to-order variant.

The RTR 310 now gets a transparent clutch cover and is now offered in a Fiery Red colour option
The motorcycle remains visually identical to the older model, save for a new transparent clutch cover, which made its way onto the RR 310 some time back, in addition to new knuckle guards. The bike can also be had in a new Fiery Red colour option. The bike now also gets an updated 5-inch TFT cluster and sequential turn indicators. Among the most important changes on the electronic front is the integration of Drag Torque Control, now offered as standard, which improves stability and keeps the rear wheel slippage in check. The remaining changes are on the top-end built-to-order version (Dynamic Pro) and include the addition of launch control.

Variants and features breakdown of the motorcycle
Features offered as standard on the motorcycle include cruise control, throttle by wire, five ride modes (Urban, Rain, Supermoto, Sport, Track), traction control, rear wheel lift-off protection, and adjustable levers. The Top variant adds a bi-directional quickshifter to the list. The BTO kit 1 adds a tyre pressure monitoring system, adjustable front and rear suspension, and a brass chain, while BTO kit 2 adds a much larger list of electronics. These include cornering traction control, cornering ABS control, wheelie control, slope-dependent control, rear lift-off control, cornering drag torque control, cornering cruise control, launch control and keyless ride control.

The motorcycle remains mechanically identical to its predecessor, sprung by an upside-down fork setup with the outer tubes finished in gold and a preload-adjustable monoshock mounted to a swingarm at the rear. Braking duties are handled by petal-type discs at both ends borrowed from the RR 310, equipped with dual-channel ABS. The RTR 310 rides on 17-inch eight-spoke alloy wheels.
The 312 cc reverse-inclined liquid-cooled mill remains unchanged, and does not feature the bigger air box and intake introduced on the RR 310. As a result, peak outputs remain unchanged at 35.1 bhp and 28.7 Nm of torque. As before, the RTR 310 comes with a 6-speed gearbox assisted by a slipper clutch.
According to TVS, what is new is what the company calls ‘smart torque filter’ along with a new ‘intelligent’ electronic throttle control. The system is said to work by measuring throttle inputs to adjust ignition and fuelling to make throttle response crisper and torque delivery more linear across the rev range.
The Apache RTR 310 is capable of accelerating from 0-60 kmph in 2.81 seconds and achieving a top speed of 150 kmph.
