Virat Kohli Takes Delivery of the Fastest Audi Ever

Much like Captain Cool aka MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli is also known to be a car enthusiast. Though the talented right-hand batsman already owns two cars from the Audi family - the R8 and the Q7 - he recently added another to that list as he took delivery of his all-new limited edition Audi R8 LMX. Mr Joe King, Head, Audi India handed over the keys of the sports car to the Indian Test Cricket captain. The R8 LMX is the most powerful Audi ever built and only 99 units of the car will be made. This four-ringed baby costs Rs. 2.97 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi/Mumbai) Also Read: Cricketers and Their Cars Powering the R8 LMX is a 5.2-litre V10 engine mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox; it churns out a whooping 570bhp along with a peak torque of 540Nm. All that power is transferred to all the wheels via Audi's quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. The R8 LMX can sprint from 0-100Km/h in just 3.4 seconds, and offers a top-speed of 320Km/h. The combination of LED and laser high beam lighting was used for the first time on the new Audi R18 e-tron quattro at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2013. The limited-edition Audi R8 LMX is the first production car in India to come equipped with laser high beam lighting. One must know that the laser high-beam lighting increases range and safety, offering illumination range up to 500 metres. "I am delighted with my new limited edition super sports car Audi R8 LMX. I am especially proud and excited to be one of only 99 owners of this special car. I have always loved automobiles and have been an admirer of Audi," said Virat Kohli.
