Volkswagen Polo And T-Roc Get 5-Star Rating For Euro NCAP Crash Tests

- The new-gen VW Polo scored 96 per cent for adult occupant protection
- The new VW T-Roc also scored 96 per cent for adult occupant protection
- Both cars share the same platform
Volkswagen has always been known to make sturdy cars and now the sixth-generation Polo and the all-new T-Roc have received five-star ratings for the Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests. The Polo attained a score of 96 per cent for adult occupant protection and 85 per cent for child occupant protection. For pedestrian protection, the Polo received a score of 76 per cent and 59 per cent for safety assist systems. The new-gen Volkswagen Polo falls in the supermini category of vehicles and set a new record for the same, as far as safety in crashes is concerned.

The outstanding Euro NCAP ratings for the Polo and T-Roc demonstrate once again how we are making maximum safety available to the drivers of mini and compact models as well." The Polo is available at prices from 12,975 euros, and the T-Roc from 20,390 euros (prices for Germany). The base versions of both the Polo and the T-Roc are already well equipped with six airbags, ESC including counter steering assistance, the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System and the Front Assist area monitoring system with City Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Monitoring. The T-Roc also comes with the Lane Assist lane keeping system as standard.
The Volkswagen T-Roc is the first ever compact SUV from the brand and gets 96 per cent for adult occupant protection. Pedestrian protection score was 79 per cent and the T-Roc also got top figures for child protection, which is 87 per cent. The T-Roc also got maximum points for safety assist systems in its segment.
