- Volvo focuses on Child Safety
- They are made with an 80% wool textile
- The seats were jointly developed with Britax-Romer
We've seen Volvo making headway when it comes to safety. In fact it has gone a step further and explained how its cars will become the safest in the world. Volvo is the only company to have gone on record saying that by 2020, it'd guarantee passenger safety in their cars and you know how serious it is when you see the technology pouring out of its stable.
Though this is not a high-tech venture, what Volvo is focusing on this time around is child safety and where better to start than children seats. According to Volvo's Senior Technical Leader of Injury Prevention, "The safety benefits of children seats are unquestionable, yet many parents unwittingly allow their children to sit forward-facing too early. One of the many reasons quoted for this is comfort - the child complains that there is not enough legroom, or is too warm due to the upholstery."
The seats were jointly developed with Britax-Romer and Volvo, it seems like, has done a thorough study and is moving in to understand how the new range of seats will help in helping the tiny tots enjoy the journey in the car. Volvo is launching a range of three new seats that are made with an 80 per cent wool textile that is more breathable and comfortable than traditional upholstery.
The company further explains that the seats are highly durable, smoother to the touch, and better-performing in both hot and cold climates. The slimmer design of the seat helps in solving the legroom problem and adds to the comfort of its occupant. Even the rear-ward facing seats have been worked upon as the seat can carry kids that weigh up to 12kg and are less than 1 year old. But thanks to the reworked design, it is now useful for kids between the ages of 9 months and 6 years old.
