XPeng Teases New Electric SUV Ahead Of Reveal Event Next Week

- Xpeng will likely launch a long wheelbase vehicle soon
- The G9 is likely to be announced at the Guangzhou Auto Show
- The G9 could be based on the P7 platform
XPeng is a big fish inside the Chinese pond of EVs. It has been touted as the Tesla of China and it boasts some impressive technology apart from being one of the biggest EV players in the world, just on the footing of its deep scale in China. Now, it is teasing its latest EV - which gets unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Xpeng has achieved this at a rapid rise despite just launching its first car the G3 SUV in 2018.
In 2019, the G3 was joined by the P7 sedan. Xpeng also dabbles in the sphere of eVTOL with its urban air mobility unit HT Aero. XPeng is quickly becoming one of the best-selling EV brands in the world and now it has even expanded operations to Europe with its starting to sell its vehicles in Norway.

The P7 is its flagship sedan and the G9 could be based on it
Most recently, it unveiled its most affordable and advanced vehicle the P5 in August which has come out as a potential challenger to the Tesla Model 3. The new teaser hints at a vehicle that could be the largest one Xpeng has offered to date - with it being larger than even the G3. Many believe this could be the G9 as its teaser claimed," a new breed coming soon".
The delivery period for the vehicle in question is likely going to be in 2022. The car is likely based on the same platform as the P7 which has a wheelbase of 3,100 mm and is already quite a bit longer than the G3.
